I am the Associate Dean of Research for the College of Business, Law and Governance in JCU Australia and the Associate Dean of Research for Business, IT, and Science in JCU Singapore. In addition to this, I am also the Director of the Centre for International Trade and Business in Asia (CITBA) [www.jcu.edu.au/citba] and an Associate Professor of JCU. In 2019, Associate I was awarded the Academic and Researcher of year for JCU Singapore.
With a PhD in International Studies majoring in International Trade, I have more than 10 years experience working in South Korea where I held roles as an Assistant Professor at Korea University of Technology and Education and then more recently as an Assistant Professor of Asia Business at Chungnam National University.
My research interests focus on issues in the fields of development economics, microeconomics and international trade, in particular, the effect of non-tariffs on trade flows, the role of domestic politics in free trade negotiations and the WTO dispute settlement mechanism. I have published several works on employee engagement and is also interested in the concept of social networks analysis and has published several studies in the Journal of Scientometrics. My works have also been published in the Journal of Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment, Journal of Cleaner Production, the Journal of World Trade, Sustainability, the Singapore Economic Review, the Journal of Asia-Pacific Economic Literature, and the Economies Journal among others.
In recent times, I organized a panel discussion event that involved all of the leading Chambers of Commerce in Singapore, the results of which led to an article being published in the Straits Times. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/education/tough-questions-for-tough-times
